MATTHEWS, N.C. (CBS Charlotte) — Earlier this morning, police in Matthews arrested a suspect they say robbed a CVS located on Highway 51.

After pretending to make a purchase, the suspect robbed the store around 1:30 a.m. — leaving with only a few dollars.

The suspect later crashed his vehicle along Sardis Road, and attempted to flee on foot.

No injuries were reported during the robbery.
