CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CBS Charlotte) — A car accident involving a Jeep crashed in North Charlotte earlier today, injuring nine people.

The accident happened just before noon near the Northlake Mall. The driver of the Jeep lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into a tree.

First responders had to free several passengers who were trapped in the vehicle.

The injuries sustained in this accident range from non-life threatening to life-threatening. Several victims have been transported to a local hospital.
