EASLEY, S.C. (AP) — Authorities in Easley have arrested a teenager after police found assorted weapons and ammunition inside a car on a high school campus.
Police said a student told Easley High School faculty members on Monday that another student had weapons and ammunition inside a vehicle. Police said they found two wood-handled axes, a stun gun, various knives, handcuffs, 200 assorted rounds of ammunition and a loaded .22-caliber handgun.
Hunter Ray Green is charged with possession of firearms on school property.
Pickens County schools spokesman John Eby said it appears the guns were left in the car after being used for hunting and recreation and weren’t meant to harm anyone at school.
The status of the 17-year-old Green couldn’t be determined Tuesday night, and it’s not known if he has an attorney.
