CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CBS Charlotte) — On December 9th, 2012, the True Change Band, Project Change the World, and Serve Charlotte’s Homeless invite local residents to join their call for unity. The gathering will be part of a documentary, and will be filmed in front of Panthers Stadium at 1:30 p.m. — on South Mint St.

120 of Charlotte’s homeless population have been invited to take part in the gathering, and will arrive at the stadium in limousines. Additionally, two homeless people will be given tickets to the game.

The call for unity comes at a time when churches, organizations, and the system are largely divided in how they help the homeless — and the needs of the homeless community are going unmet.

Blankets, gloves, and other necessities will be distributed during the gathering, and residents are encouraged to donate needed items.
