CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CBS Charlotte) — Earlier today, U.S. Airways Flight 3284 originally scheduled to land in Charlotte from Key West, was forced to make an emergency landing at Ft. Myers Airport in Florida. According to a U.S. Airways spokesperson, the plane struck a bird during flight.
73 passengers were on board during the emergency landing, and no injuries have been reported.
A separate flight with an on-call crew departed Charlotte Douglas International Airport and headed to Ft. Myers Airport earlier this evening, and is currently headed back to Charlotte — with all 73 passengers on board.
