This past Saturday, hundreds of Charlotte residents braved the frigid temperature (some wearing short sleeve shirts and shorts,) and flocked to Charlotte Motor Speedway — to participate in The Color Run of 2012. The event is a 5K fun-filled walk, run, or jog — with a lot of wild color in-between.

The Color Run held its first event in 2011, and has continued to gain popularity across the nation. The paint race phenomena unites family and friends for an unforgettable morning of messy fun.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity, an organization that builds homes for people in need.
