NEW BERN, N.C. (CBS Charlotte) – Every now and then, one can lose money in a vending machine and get a little upset by kicking or pushing the machine. But one Charlotte woman went one step further by allegedly attempting to burn a vending machine down.
Police say that Debra Johnson, 43, was seen on a surveillance camera outside a Piggly Wiggly setting fire to a vending machine.
KLTV reports that the fire burned about $35 in change.
“I don’t need a lawyer to lie for me, cause I’mma tell you I done it,” Johnson told the station.
Johnson is currently in custody as she refused to pay the $10,000 bond. She faces charges of burning of personal property and burning of certain building.
