It hasn’t been very long since the final American Idol judges panel was announced, bringing rapper Nicki Minaj, diva Mariah Carey, country crooner Keith Urban and veteran Randy Jackson together for season 12. Though Carey and Minaj adamantly denied any drama or beef between the two starlets, yesterday’s auditions in Charlotte said otherwise.
The four American Idol judges took their seats in the Speedway Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 2 to film auditions but production came to a quick halt when both female judges began to fight on set over a contestant’s performance. Footage obtained from someone inside the club shows Minaj shouting profusely at Carey, her argument riddled with profanity.
Though some of the footage is inaudible, the drama is obvious.
“I told them I’m not f**kin’ putting up with her f**king highness over there,” Minaj yelled towards Carey. ”Figure it the f**k out. Figure it out.” While Jackson and Urban were ultimately trying to cool down the two divas, Minaj kept the strains of profanity coming. ”I’m not gonna sit here every f**king minute to have you come down and harass me every minute everyday.” According to sources on set, MInaj also threatened to “knock out” Carey in the heated verbal war.
The video shows Carey trying to defend herself but it’s ultimately inaudible. After the explosion, producers on the set cut the day short, sending everyone home until the situation could be calmed down.
TMZ obtained a video of the altercation below.
