The past 5 days gave us some interesting and disappointing results. Here is a quick look back at some of the more memorable outcomes plus my top 10 in NCAA and NFL and upcoming picks.
The football weekend started Thursday night as the Washington Huskies made our own Frank Garcia happy knocking off #8 Stanford 17-13. Mac Attack host Chris McClain saw his Baltimore Ravens win a pedestrian affair over the Cleveland Browns.
Saturday gave us a very mediocre performance by the nation’s top 10. Alabama was actually losing to Mississippi (for whole 15 seconds), LSU struggled again, Georgia scored 51 points at home and almost lost, South Carolina had to put up 31 in the second half to win at Kentucky, and Florida State even let South Florida hang around for a while. WVUs Geno Smith beat Baylor quarterback Nick Florence in NCAA Football 2013 on Xbox 360.
Sunday threw two of the most heartbreaking defeats we’ve seen at us. 1st the Panthers allowed Matt Ryan and the division rival Atlanta Falcons to drive from the 1 yard line, with less than a minute to go in the game, and kick a game winning field goal. During and after the game we saw the US Ryder Cup team completely meltdown and practically hand the trophy over to the Europeans.
At least we were able to take pleasure in watching Tony Romo throw five interceptions against my Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football.
NCAA Top 10: #1 Alabama, #2 Oregon, #3 Florida State, #4 Georgia, #5 South Carolina, #6 LSU, #7 West Virginia, #8 Notre Dame, #9 Kansas State, #10 Texas
NFL Top 10: #1 Atlanta, #2 Houston, #3 Baltimore, #4 Arizona, #5 San Francisco, #6 Philadelphia, #7 Chicago, #8 New England, #9 Green Bay, #10 Cincinnati
My picks for the big upcoming NCAA football weekend are Florida, South Carolina, West Virginia, Washington, and Ohio State. In the NFL I will take Cincinnati, Green Bay, Baltimore, Chicago, and New Orleans.
