During Week #4 of the NFL Season, Cam Newton talked to reporters today in the locker room after practice about a wide range of topics, one was the fallout from the Thursday night game against the NY Giants on NFL Network.
“It’s a loss. I don’t like losing, and hopefully I can do my part and move on and have a successful game,” Cam says. In that game, Newton had 3 interceptions, and the Panthers’ defense was decimated by Eli Manning’s passing game which led them to 36-7.
Steve Smith did have some words for Cam Newton after their loss which buzzed around lots of sports sites:
I lit into him because I thought it was an opportunity for him to see and understand what was going on. This is more than about playing football. It’s about becoming a man and understanding what this is. – ESPN.com
Cam when asked about the incident said “Steve who?” followed by laughing it off being that Steve Smith always talks to him each day about anything both on and off the field.
“Me and Smitty are on good terms…I look up to Steve Smith,” he says.
