DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina’s military is remembering the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks with events at Fort Bragg and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
At Seymour Johnson near Goldsboro, the 4th Fighter Wing will hold a remembrance ceremony Tuesday, followed by a 24-hour run by members of host units. Those units include the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron, 4th Security Forces Squadron and 4th Fighter Wing Honor Guard.
The 18th Airborne Corps will hold a ceremony at Fort Bragg’s main flag pole. The commanding general of the corps and the post will make remarks at the ceremony, which is open to the public.
The ceremony includes a presentation and honors, a 21-gun salute and a wreath laying.
