Mac Attack 09/11/12: Panthers WR Brandon LaFell joined the guys in studio as he will each Tuesday to discuss the loss to Tampa and the game against the Saints Sunday
With the Panthers having the 5th overall offense last year, it was surprising to see them only score 10 points against Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “We just couldn’t get in a rhythm as an offense,” says LaFell. He thinks that they came out “dry” and didn’t rush the ball well in the first half, but the Panthers stepped it up some in the second half.
In response to Barber’s tipped interception, LaFell says that he has “got to be able and make that tough catch for the offense.” Cam Newton on the sidelines said that Brandon just needs to get to the ball a little bit quicker, but the play was a little out of everyone’s hands.
Steve Smith took some big hits during the Tampa Bay loss, but LaFell believes that he acts like the “youngest guy on the team” flying around making catches even when the veteran WR is the oldest player on the team.
