CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — An Obama campaign official says workers from Bain Capital-controlled companies will speak at the Democratic Party’s national convention.
Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney ran Bain, a private equity firm, before getting into government. Democrats have tried to cast Romney as having pursued profits at the expense of workers while at Bain.
Democrats say the convention will be focused on Obama’s plans for boosting the middle class.
Obama’s campaign has featured Bain employees in television advertisements and conference calls.
The campaign official was not allowed to discuss the speakers’ lineup publicly and requested anonymity.
