Starting next week this weekly blog will include NFL predictions, but for this week only its college football!
I love going to Augusta every year. I love going to at least 10 Panthers games per season. I love always going to Fenway (ok, not this year), going to a bunch of NBA games, and I can’t wait for college basketball. I loved being in Bristol last week for the best NASCAR race of the year, and I’m really fired up to attend my first ever US Open Tennis tournament this weekend. But I would give up every sporting event on the planet for college football.
Where I come from its a birthright. In fact, I believe my home state of Alabama loves college football more than any other state loves any single sport. That’s because the state of Alabama ONLY cares about college football. My first memories are of watching Alabama football games with my family. Heck, even at my great uncle’s funeral last year my cousin (right after he finished eulogizing his father) asked me if I thought Trent Richardson would win the Heisman Trophy. And a few years ago I refused to read in my buddy’s wedding because it was during the Alabama-Tennessee game.
No, college football is not more important than my faith, my wife and children, or even my dog. But its fifth.
