FRISCO, N.C. (AP) — Authorities along the North Carolina coast have found a body in an area where an Ohio woman disappeared.

Dare County Sheriff’s Capt. Charles Neiman said the body was found Saturday. Investigators are trying to identify the person. Neiman says he doesn’t know yet if the body is a woman or a man.

Neiman says the body was found just off the street about 20 to 30 miles from where 33-year-old Lynn Jackenheimer, of Ashland, Ohio, disappeared.

Jackenheimer was reported missing when she didn’t come home from a vacation in the Outer Banks with her two children and her on-and-off boyfriend, Nate Summerfield.

Police say Summerfield dropped the children off in Ashland and drove off.
