MORGANTON, N.C. (AP) — Two men who saw a strange man in a neighbor’s home in Morganton got their guns and held him until police arrived.
Police have charged 24-year-old Jeremy Williams with breaking and entering and attempted larceny Wednesday. Officials think Williams is connected with a series of break-ins in the area.
Adam and Charles Baker were helping a neighbor by watching the vacant home that had been previously burglarized. They suspected something was wrong when they found a fence post out of the ground and a chain over the driveway removed.
Williams is being held in the Burke County jail and is awaiting a court date. It wasn’t clear if he has a lawyer.
