Mac Attack 7/11/12: Former NFL QB and now NBC NFL analyst Shaun King talks about his wild Panther prediction for the year with Mac.
King was adamant that people who are predicting a sophomore slump for Cam Newton are wrong. He told us why.
“A lot of people have been saying that Cam Newton is going to have a sophomore slump, but you have to remember that a lot of these people said that Cam wasn’t going to be that good. A lot of them had Blain Gabbert ranked in front of Cam, so they want to be right. So they need Cam to have a sophomore slump for them to have some semblance of credibility based on their prediction going into last year. I don’t think that’s going to happen.”
Cam is not the only one who will have a great season, according to King. He said he sees the entire team in a great spot for a successful season.
“I love where you guys are at. I think New Orleans will be a little down because of all their turmoil…I just think you guys are right there poised for a breakout season, and if that defense can get their points per game down to about 19 or 20, I think you guys have a chance to win a lot of football games.”
