Ok, so I have been singing the title of this article all day long to myself. You can try it to. Sing it to the tune of Naughty By Nature’s ‘OPP.’
Why am I singing? Because after a few weeks of deliberating, I now know who I want to the Bobcats to pick tonight: Michael Kidd Gilchrist from Kentucky. He is the ultimate team player and he is relentless. He is a championship piece. Sure it might not be the most important championship piece, but he can be a key contributor on a title team and I can’t say that for sure about any other candidate for the #2 pick. He will defend multiple positions, hit the offensive boards, finish on the break and take it to the rack hard.
But the skeptics want to know why his jumper is more broke than Terrell Owens. But, shooting is a skill you can improve, just like accuracy for a QB or control for a pitcher. Look at guys like MJ, Scottie Pippen, Ron Artest and Rajon Rondo. They all improved their shot during their NBA careers.
But, can you teach will and fire? No, and MKG has that big time.
