I knew it was coming. The second the Pats let go of Chad Ochocinco, I knew the feedback was coming from some members of Panther Nation.  Some of you want to sign him to play for the Panthers.

Some of it makes a little sense.  You could probably get him for a cheap deal, close to the NFL minimum.  And, if he truly has lost it, cut him in camp.  Sounds ok, but what about the reps the young guys will lose in practice? What about the confidence Gettis and Lafell might lose as well. It’s not worth it for a guy who is no longer a game breaker, drops passes and tends to be a pain in the butt off the field. Sure, he knows Steve Smith from their Juco days, but do we know for sure they are BFFs?  How does Ocho react when he comes here and Cam and Smitty get all the attention?

If Tom Brady can’t make Ocho look good, then who can.  And, if he can’t learn the Pats offense, is he going to be able to learn Chud’s complex scheme easily?  He hasn’t had a good year since 2009.  That was so long ago, the QC hadn’t even been introduced to the great Jimmy Clausen at that point.  So, amateur GMs and the real Panther GM, please say no to Ocho.

Now if you want to sign Plaxico Burress, that would be ok with me.
