GASTONIA, N.C. (CBS Charlotte) - A local man has accused a woman of assaulting him using her prosthetic leg after an argument over groceries escalated.

The Charlotte Observer is reporting that the woman also allegedly tore out her own dialysis tube during the fight, which occurred around 11:30 a.m. this past Sunday.

Charles Maurice Talbert, 29, was named as the victim in the attack by the paper. The woman was not identified.

The police said that the woman accused Talbert of harassing her for two days about groceries, and that he allegedly punched her at one point.

She also claimed to authorities that the removal of her dialysis tube was an accident that occurred during the altercation.

The woman was reportedly taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, the Observer noted.
