Cops: Mother Held Alleged Bully’s Arms While Daughters Beat Her Up At School
SENECA, S.C. (CBS Charlotte/AP) — Investigators say a mother has been charged with helping her daughters beat up another teen at Seneca High School.
Authorities said Lottie Young is facing charges including assault by mob and delinquency of a minor.
Video of the incident shows a man trying to help the 16-year-old girl being beaten when he is grabbed by Young and pushed against a car. Witnesses say they saw Young kicking the victim on the ground.
Young says the fight was already going on when she got out of her car and she helped break things up. The mother says the beating victim has been bullying her 15-year-old daughter for the past month.
“Enough is enough, people are killing themselves for getting bullied,” Young told WHNS-TV.
Seneca High School Resource Officer Eric Brown says that Young was holding the victim’s arms while Young’s daughters were beating her.
“There’s no justification for a parent getting involved against a student,” Brown told WSPA-TV.
Young’s daughters have also been charged. It wasn’t known if they or their mother had attorneys.
