GREENWOOD, S.C. (AP) — Two football players from Presbyterian College have been charged with rape and kidnapping in an assault at Lander University.
Investigators said 19-year-old Bobby Henderson III, of Orlando, Fla., and 19-year-old Cameren Jones of Mauldin were arrested Friday.
Authorities say the men knocked on the door of an on-campus apartment at the university on March 21 and forced their way inside, raping three women at gunpoint.
Lander University police say one of the men knew the victims and more charges may be filed.
Presbyterian College officials say the allegations go against everything the college stands for and the students have been suspended. They are being held in the Greenwood County jail without bail. It wasn’t clear if they had lawyers.
Lander University is in Greenwood and has about 3,000 students.
