MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (CBS Charlotte) – A school teacher visiting the Myrtle Beach area was arrested and now faces multiple charges for allegedly biting two bouncers early Sunday morning.

WBTV reports that Mia Misae Chiarella was allegedly seen biting the bouncers at Shamrocks Sports Bar and Grill – one on the right side of his chest, the other on his left bicep – by multiple eyewitnesses.

She had also been seen causing a disturbance before her ejection from the bar. She fled the scene when complainants called 911.

Chiarella, a Columbus, Ohio, resident, was located soon after by authorities based on a description of her stature and attire.

“[She] just panicked and bit them to get them to leave her alone,” she told police, according to WBTV, additionally claiming that she was angered by an argument with her boyfriend immediately preceding the attack.

It is not yet known where specifically Chiarella teaches, but she is reportedly a middle school teacher.

The station reports she was charged with public intoxication and simple assault.
