Woman Flashes Knife At Cops While High On Bath Salts
LENOIR, N.C. (CBS Charlotte) – A local woman was arrested and charged with assaulting a government official after approaching cops with a knife while high on bath salts and synthetic marijuana.
Lenoir Police Captain Tom Deighton told CBS Charlotte that the suspect, Jacquilen Marie Donahue, was discovered wandering and behaving erratically after responding to a call on Feb. 13.
“She was wondering around the mobile home park … she was talking out of her head, really,” he described.
When one officer noticed an object in her hand, he requested that she stop walking and turn to face them. Instead, she began to approach them with what turned out to be a knife.
The cops then took Donahue to the ground and disarmed her as she protested.
“She was wild, not making sense,” Deighton said. “She kept asking if she was alive, if she was still breathing.”
During the arrest process, authorities learned that Donahue had been smoking a combination of bath salts and K2, a type of synthetic marijuana.
After being arrested and charged, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office took her to jail, where she was held on a $15,000 bond.
According to a daily custody report published on the Sheriff’s Office website, Donahue is still behind bars.
