The Drive Monday 1-30-12- We spoke with Jamie Dukes from the NFL Network about Tom Brady’s legacy, the best city to have the Super Bowl in, and what the Carolina Panthers should do in the draft.
First and foremost has been the upcoming catchup between Tom Brady and Eli Manning, but Dukes didn’t seem to think this game would effect either Quarterback’s chances at the Hall of Fame OR legacies.
“I think Tom; I put Brady at Number Two. Period. He can’t go past Joe Montana in my mind, win, lose or draw. When you think about effectively the number of years he was playing healthy, half of those years he ended up in the Super Bowl. That speaks volumes for itself. [Brady] has done more with less…Comparing Eli [Manning to brother Peyton] is like comparing apples to oranges. [Don't do it].”
While the game may not effect the outcome of the two QB hopeful runs towards the Hall of Fame, Dukes did have thoughts on which team he thought would come home with the ring. He endorsed the Giants, stating the team had already exposed the Patriots greatest weakness and would be able to capitalize on it.
“The [Patriots] should feel like the underdog. I like the Giants a whole lot, and I’m trying to figure out what is wrong with me…what it is going to boil down to at the end of the day…the kryptonite of the New England Patriots, that kryptonite got stronger. And that is pass rush…And then you look at what the Giants are doing offensively, this is a much better Giants offense than they faced the last time. Couple that with the Patriots defense, one of the worst in the National Football League! For some reason, people are saying they cured their woes last week, but the reality is, last I checked, Joe Flacco took them down the league and threw a touchdown to win the game and Lee Evans didn’t catch the ball!…I’m not sure how they think they cured their woes!”
