First Night Charlotte is the Queen City’s premiere New Year’s Celebrations! Complete with artists, dancers, comedians, musicians and magicians the vent is fun for the entire family! Learn why First Night Charlotte is the ultimate family-friendly cultural celebration!

Stations of Celebrations!

First Night returns to Charlotte to ring in 2012! As a family-friendly cultural celebration, various fun events will culminate at several places such as the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Outdoor terrace at Charlotte Convention Center, Bechtler Museum, Mint Museum, The Green, and the main stage located at Levine Avenue of the Arts! Come be arpart of the fun through interpretations from artists, dancers, comedians, musicians and magicians as they take to the streets for your entertainment! First Night Kids kicks off First Night and runs from 12-5pm with a kids countdown at the main stage from 4-5pm. For the more mature crowd, First Night picks back up at 8pm for spectacular activities at The Green until 11pm and a fantastic midnight finale show from 10pm-12:30am on the main stage featuring headline band The Atlanta Party Band and Hoop Dancer Spiral! Although First Night is alcohol-free, attendees are encouraged to enjoy the local dining before the Queen Charlotte crown is raised to ring in 2012!

First Night Kids Performers!

When it comes to the First Night celebrations for children, they seem endless! Grab the kids and take part in a plethora of activities that range from face painting to live music! First Night Kids is scheduled between 12 PM and 5 PM with events and performances at NASCAR Hall of Fame, Outdoor terrace of the Charlotte Convention Center, The Green, Bechtler Museum, Mint Museum, and the main stage at Levine Avenue of the Arts! …And For The Evening…

First Night Evening Activities will take place at The Green from 8-11:00pm! Take part in “A World Musical Journey led by Ari Quiroga Nieto (Spanish Guitar) and supported by a cast of World-Class musicians! Or grab live performance time from the Gay Men’s Chorus and Charlotte Pride Band Performances that have show tiems at 8:30pm, 9:30pm and 10:30pm! Dance with your friends and family and wear one of the festive crowns! Grab a keepsake of the night by getting your picture taken in a photo booth, a flip book of silly pictures taken or sing with friends with the Dance Heads! During the “Midnight Finale Countdown”, the Atlanta Party Band will perform from 10pm-12:30am on the main stage at Levine Avenue of the Arts! This is a dynamic eight piece band! Also performing on the main stage from 10pm-12:30am will be the contemporary hoop dancer, Spiral Part whirling dervish, acrobat, modern dancer, object manipulator, yogi and ninja! No matter how you choose to celebrate the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012, you will have a plethora of choice at Charlotte’s First Night Out! Happy New Year!
