The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte administers programs and services with the intent of helping those who are, at the time, not able to help themselves. With outreach centered upon restoring broken lives, building strong and sound relationships, developing life skills, and providing encouragement and enrichment to all ages, The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte goes beyond bell ringing and provides programs that enable the citizens of Mecklenburg County thrive. The Family (Thrift) Stores provide furnishings, clothing, accessories, household goods and other necessities to the public at reasonable prices. Donations are always accepted and tax deductible. Treasures are around every corner to build a wonderful wardrobe or create a warm and functional home. The Salvation Army operates five Family (Thrift) Stores in the Charlotte area and 100 percent of proceeds from the Family (Thrift) Stores fund The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC), making the program self-supporting. The families that are served through The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte during the Christmas season are local families from Mecklenburg and Union counties. Single moms and dads from the area receive the resources to make a sound home and environment for their children. Such subsidiaries of the Christmas efforts include: The Christmas Bureau, Angel Tree and Silver Bells. Residents from all walks of life get a chance at building a better life.

The Salvation Army greatly appreciates and relies on the support it receives every day from individuals with huge hearts and a desire to give of their time, efforts, energies and resources. So monetary and clothing donations are a huge part of the success of the Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte. The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte, a non-profit 501c (3) organization, spends 83 cents out of every dollar donated to help our neighbors who are in need here in the Charlotte area. Whether it be your time organizing clothing for resale in one of the stores, writing a check for the Center of Hope, or simply delivering new toys to children, your efforts do not go unnoticed and are appreciated tremendously.
Worship And Prayer
Worship is an integral part of the Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte. Motivated primarily by a love for God and with a desire to serve mankind, the Salvation Army keeps the principles of service in the forefront with every outreach effort. Salvation Army congregations gather each Sunday for fellowship, prayer, worship in many cities throughout the Carolinas. It is through these worship services that strength is sustained, goals are reached and the impossible becomes possible.
