Candlelight Christmas At Latta!
You and the family are invited to step into the 1820s and celebrate Christmas at Latta Plantation! You can even tour the plantation by candlelight, meet animals in the carriage barn, see dancing in the house, send holiday greetings to Mr. and Mrs. Latta and enjoy the excitement and cheer of children before bedtime! Gather around to see a Christmas meal being prepared in the kitchen, send warm hellos to a slave family celebrating in the cabin and participate in song! The Singing Christmas Tree for KIDS
The magic of the holidays is brought to life, courtesy of Singing Christmas Tree for KIDS! Favorite children’s Christmas carols, sing-a-longs and holiday storytelling, starring the Grey Seal Puppets and a “ho-ho-hoing” Santa are there to spread the best and brightest holiday cheer! So for those young and young at heart, come be apart of the amazing spectacle of a singing tree this holiday season! This even is perfect for kid’s age 3 to 8!

The Backcountry Christmas Celebration
The Backcountry Christmas Celebration at the The President James K. Polk State Historic Site is a one-of-a-kind living history event that shows visitors how the Christmas holiday was celebrated in Mecklenburg County in the year 1800! Each building will be adorned in holiday 19th century style and costumed interpreters will give the public a glimpse back in time to see a Christmas celebration of 1800! You will be invited to step inside a recreated tavern, visit with holiday revelers, and listen to various holiday customs of the early 19th century! There will also be a craft area for children!
