The Drive Thursday 12-1-11-The A.C.C. Championship is coming to Charlotte this Saturday at Bank of America Stadium, and Taylor and Marc had the great pleasure to interview former Clemson football coach Tommy Bowden about the big game.
Bowden, who is now on a Fox Sports South college football show, discussed the Clemson/Virginia Tech match-up and how Clemson’s quarterback play is the key to winning the game. After being the coach for nine years, Bowden says there are high expectations being a coach at Clemson like Dabo Sweeney taking criticism for his team losing games this season and having numerous turnovers.
While these two teams are playing to win the ACC Championship, Tommy Bowden believes Miami and Maryland had disappointing seasons with their losses. The ACC Conference looked bad as a whole he thought when they lost decisively 3 out of 4 ACC/SEC match-ups last week during the last regular season games.
Even though the Hokies typically lose a game or two early on in the season, Frank Beamer and his seniors seem to always rise up and get themselves back in the contention of winning the conference.
Bowden gives us his picks at the conclusion of the interview for the Virginia Tech/Clemson, LSU/Georgia, Oklahoma State/Oklahoma, and which wins need to be big enough to be in the national championship game.
Who do you think will win…Virginia Tech or Clemson? Let us know!
