Since Black Friday is starting early for most retailers at midnight tonight, I have put together my own Black Friday shopping list of NFL players for the perfect team. If I was in charge of the Panthers and every single player was on sale for a discounted price, this is who I would sign.

Starting on the offensive line: Left Tackle – Jake Long – Miami Dolphins. Jake is a good young player and is the perfect complement to my RT. Right Tackle – Michael Oher - Baltimore Ravens. I’m not picking him because he was in The Blindside, I’m picking him because he is a beast and protects the quarterback well. At the Guard positions I have two Green Bay Packers – TJ Lang and Josh Sitton. These guys obviously work great together. Our Center will be Ryan Kalil from our hometown Carolina Panthers, this will be so he can help pursued his younger brother to sign with us next year when he turns pro.

Our skilled position players on offense are going to be weapons of mass destruction. Tight End – Greg Olsen – Carolina Panthers – Greg is a fiery, strong player, catches the ball well, and despite what people say, he blocks well. One Wide receiver will be our emotional leader – Steve Smith. We have to keep Steve so he can keep scaring the crap out of T-Bone. Our 2nd receiver will have to be Calvin Johnson. ‘Megatron’ is arguably the best WR in the game and I would love to see him in a Panthers uniform. The running backs would be Matt Forte from Chicago and Darren McFadden from Oakland. These guys are young, fast, strong, and don’t fumble very often. Picking a quarterback to lead my “all-stars” was a little harder than I thought. I initially figured I’d pick Cam since he has a long career ahead of him, but went with another young gunslinger, but one who has proven himself with a Super Bowl win and various records: Aaron Rodgers. The Cheesehead is the best quarterback in the league this year (and the last half of last year) and shows no signs on slowing down. As a Chicago Bears fan it pains me to say that Green Bay will continue to be great for a long time with Rodgers at the helm.

On the defensive side of the ball I picked a bunch of veteran and proven leaders. Starting on the d-line would be none other than Charlotte’s favorite player: Julius Peppers. The former Tarheel would play alongside Jared Allen from Minnesota, both creating havoc for any offense. At the tackle positions I would have Cullen Jenkins from Philadelphia and Haloti Ngata from Baltimore. Cullen is a good player and I want Ngata just because it would be fun to make Chris McClain say his name every week.

Our linebackers would be Von Miller from Denver, Demarcus Ware from Dallas, and Patrick Willis from San Francisco. These 3 are causing trouble for all types of offensive schemes and know how to put up some stats. The secondary would make opposing quarterbacks think twice about throwing against us, led by Ed Reed from Baltimore and Eric Weddle from San Diego at the safety position. The corner backs would be Charles Woodson from Green Bay and Antonio Cromartie from New York Jets. I don’t believe Cromartie is one of the two best CBs in the league, but it would be great to have T-Bone crack jokes about Antonio’s 14 kids every show.

On special teams we would have to sign Devin Hester to return punts and kick offs. The all time leader of returns for touchdowns is an exciting player to watch and would keep Panther fans from groaning every time we receive a punt (thanks for nothing Armati). The punter would be Zoltan Mesko from New England. Who wouldn’t want a guy named Zoltan on their team? The kick off specialist would be Spencer Lanning. The former Gamecock is currently a free agent and could use a job. Our field goal kicker would be none other than John Kasay. The 86-year-old Kasay is potentially still the best FG kicker in the game.

On a side note since Daniel Guy knows the only way he can win the WFNZ Bloggers NFL Picks Pool is to try and keep my picks off the record for this week, here are my picks for today, Sunday, and Monday: Green Bay, Dallas, Baltimore, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Tennessee, Carolina, Arizona, New York Jets, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, Philadelphia, Denver, Pittsburgh, & New Orleans.

Who would you sign if you could build a dream team for the Carolina Panthers? Let us know on our WFNZ Facebook Page and on my Twitter: @BruceRWilson . Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
