Another Wild College Football Weekend
Another wild weekend in college football is in the books and the results yield some major changes in the top 25 polls due to some crazy games. I won’t waste any of your time and get right into this weeks review.
Even though the craziness started early when #15 “Dubya-Vee-You” was dominated on the road by Syracuse 49-23, I would be remiss if I did not start with the outcome at Spartan Stadium. #16 Michigan State hosted #6 Wisconsin and it came down to the final play of the game. Tied at 31, Michigan State launched a ‘Hail Mary’ pass that was caught just shy of the end zone but pushed across the goal line with second effort, giving the Spartans the victory and knocking the Badgers from the list of the unbeatens.
Wisconsin wasn’t the only undefeated team that let down its fans, as #3 Oklahoma was stunned at home by Texas Tech 41-38 and another top team almost went down when #5 Boise State escaped with a 37-26 win against Air Force.
Closer to home the Clemson Tigers continued to prove they are a legitimate contender with another strong offensive performance against the North Carolina Tarheels. The 8th ranked Tigers have moved up to #5 in the new polls.
A few teams tried to hold form as LSU, Alabama, Stanford, Oregon, Kansas State, Nebraska, & Houston combined to outscore their opponents 355-102.
Prepare to buckle up again this coming Saturday as we have another great slate of games on top and fellow blogger Daniel Guy will give his weekly preview of the most intriguing match ups on Friday, including South Carolinas victory at Tennessee.
