Weezies Wrap Up 8-5-11- Another Friday is upon us and we have our reason to drink tonight and its a good one.

Today August 5th is International Beer Day a day a few friends back in 2007 decided would make a good day to celebrate all things beer.  When sports are involved its almost a prerequisite that you should have a beer in hand as you watch.  With football on its way back this fall, and you make it out to your favorite tailgating spot to pre-game for your team.  Enjoy that frothy cold deliciousness that so many people put their blood sweat and tears into (not literally hopefully) and thank them their work.

I started the hobby of homebrewing in 2008 as a reason to make beer a little cheaper than I could get it in the stores.  Turns out you spend more on the equipment and setup than you would spend going to the store but the satisfaction of drinking your own brew is definitely worth it.   You start to understand what makes a good beer good and a crappy beer crappy.  Never wanted to be a snob of any kind but I’ll admit it, I am a beer snob.  But its ok I’ve come to terms with it and its ok.

So tonight or this weekend as you head out for a cold one try something different and new to see if there is something you might be missing.  Whether its an ale, lager, porter or stout theres a beer out there for everyone.  Do your best to try them all.  Cheers!
