The Drive Weezies Wrap Up 7-29-11- March Madness has a new rival for most exciting two days in sports. What a week this has been, usually one of the slowest of the sports year minus the few NFL teams that would be reporting to training camp at the end of the week.  With the Lockout ending it put Free Agency into overdrive.  I feel sorry for Steve Reed of CarolinaGrowl.com and all the other beat writers out there that have been slammed with phone calls and text messages the past few days.  But as a NFL fan I sure do appreciate it.

I can only equate these last few days to the first two days of March Madness.  Those two days in early spring are exciting because of one thing.  You are over loaded with sports information.  There is so much happening its hard to keep up with all the scores and games that are going on.  Thats what its been like around the studios this week.

Maybe just because the Panthers were so active in this particular free agency is the reason that it was so busy but all around I think these few days have been some of the most exciting off-season days I can remember.  I think the NFL should do this every year save all the transactions for the 3 weeks before training camp.  Illogical I know but it sure does make it exciting for a few days.

NFL is games are right around the corner.  So close you can taste it.  Enjoy these last few weeks of heat because Fall is on the way and so is FOOTBALL!
