The Charlotte Bobcats will host an NBA Draft Party on Thursday, June 23 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena, and The Drive with Marc James & Taylor Zarzour will be broadcasting live from the arena from 3pm-7pm. This free event is open to the public and features appearances by NBA legends David Thompson, Eric “Sleepy” Floyd and Dell Curry, and live analysis of the 2011 NBA Draft by team broadcasters Steve Martin and Scott Lauer.
The 2011 NBA Draft will air on the arena’s main scoreboard beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Bobcats have the 9th, 19th and 39th overall selections in this year’s draft. The 9th selection will be made at approximately 8:20 p.m.
In addition to draft coverage as it happens, fans in attendance can test their basketball skills in the Bobcats draft combine on the practice court, meet the new 2011-12 Lady Cats dance team, be entertained by balloon artists, face painters and magicians and enjoy concession stand specials throughout the evening. Team-worn gear will be on sale at a table on the concourse, with all proceeds benefitting Cats Care programming next season, and Thursday is the final day of the store-wide 25% off sale at the Team Store located on the Trade Street Plaza entrance of the arena.
A sampling of seats available for the 2011-12 season will be tagged and ticket sales representatives will be on-hand to answer questions about the new Bobcats Special Draft Offer with season tickets at 50% off.
