The Charlotte Bobcats have played their hearts out for Paul Silas. I fully expect them to be in the playoff chase all the way to the wire. But they’re either going to miss getting in by a game or two, or get swept by the Celtics or Heat in the first round. What’s the difference? With Miami’s big 3, The Celtics big 4, and now the Knicks big 2, the Bobcats better do something.

The Bobcats must acquire a top level star or fighting to get into the playoffs will be their annual ceiling. They need someone that can fill up the stands and the rim. That player is Stephen Curry. There are too many positives to count but let’s try..

-he’s from here
-he had a legendary 3 year college career at Davidson
-his father played here and is the TV analyst for the team
-he is exactly the kind of person the Bobcats can market
-he’s a damn good NBA basketball player

Look, I think we all should stand up and clap for Stephen Jackson, Gerald Wallace, DJ Augustin, and the rest of the Bobcats. They leave their hearts on the floor every night. But frankly there’s not enough talent to make any noise in a loaded Eastern Conference. If they’re able to trade for Stef other star players will follow. What would keep Chris Paul from coming (near) home?

Michael Jordan has made a lot of good decisions since he bought the Bobcats. He gave Larry Brown a solid roster, he fired Larry Brown, and he made Paul Silas the permanent coach. Now he needs to go and get a star player. He needs to go bring Stef back home.
