Super Bowl Sunday: Cheering For The Packers Or Rooting Against “BIG BEN”?

Ben Roethlisberger Super Bowl XLV Media Day

Why all the “Player Hating” for Pittsburgh Steelers Two time Super Bowl Champion Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger? If you don’t have a horse in the race for Super Bowl XLV, are you cheering for the Packers or rooting against Big Ben? He’s looking to become just the fifth quarterback in NFL history to win three Super Bowl rings. He is on the precipice of entering Hallowed Ground with the Greats of All Time such as Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Terry Bradshaw, & Troy Aikman.

Last of all, I am not condoning the alarming, inexplicable, & questionable behavior of alleged sexual assault incidents by women in Nevada & Milledgeville, Georgia. What I do know is that Roethlisberger was NEVER Convicted; NEVER Arrested; and NEVER even Charged. The only thing he is guilty of is BAD judgment multiple times. Hence the reason why society should admire professional athletes for their exploits ON the field; NOT their transgressions off it.

Nearly five years ago, a 19-Year-Old red-shirt freshman quarterback at USC named Mark Sanchez (current Jets Starting QB) was arrested for sexual assault of a female student. Eventually, charges were dropped and the case was dropped due to lack of evidence. Why isn’t there all this ground swell of animosity and vitriol for Sanchez? Double standard? Perhaps. All I know is that Roethlisberger needs to make the same astute decisions in life that he has throughout his playing career. If he does that, he will be put in rarefied air much like the way if he wins his third ring in Super Bowl 45 on Sunday.
